Just a day after Kentucky Football landed a huge four-star recruit in Ja’kayden Ferguson, a wide receiver out of Texas, the staff managed to secure another big time commitment this morning for the 2025 class in Andrew Purcell.
“1000% committed,” he said in his commitment post.
Purcell is a three-star athlete/defensive back out of Enterprise, Alabama, where he is currently in his senior season for Enterprise High School. The 5’11” prospect is tabbed as the twenty-second best athlete in the nation and the twenty-sixth best overall player in the entire state of Alabama for 2025.
Purcell was highly sought-after as he held scholarship offers from several power-five conference schools which include Clemson, Florida, Georgia, Houston, Indiana, Miami, Ole Miss, Oregon, and Tennessee, among many other major names.
Purcell will become the ninth commit for Kentucky’s 2025 recruiting class joining wideout Ja’kayden Ferguson, wideout Quintin Simmons Jr., safety Martels Carter Jr., running back Marquise Davis, offensive tackle Darrin Strey, quarterback Stone Saunders, offensive tackle Tucker Kattus, and quarterback Brennen Ward.
Andrew was on his official visit to the school this weekend and by Monday morning the program already had him committed. That either shows how bad he wants to play for Kentucky or how bad he staff wants him to play for Kentucky, or maybe both. Either way, this is a great sign and it took essentially very little time to solidify his decision.
The coaching staff is steadily racking up a very impressive recruiting class for 2025 with no signs of slowing down anytime soon. According to On3’s rankings, Kentucky currently has a top-25 recruiting class sitting at twenty-third overall.
