After a long pause, Rupp Arena will finally have some basketball action take place inside of it this weekend! It’s been nearly four-and-a-half months since we’ve last seen a basketball dribble inside of there, but that will come to an end on July 19th with The Basketball Tournament (TBT) event coming to town.

Team La Familia, formed together to represent the Lexington region by former Wildcat and national champion, Twany Beckham, will take the floor on Friday night at 8:00 PM ET against the 305 Ballers.

The roster make-up will consist of 10 players in which all but one played for the University of Kentucky men’s basketball program. Eric Bledsoe, Daniel Orton, James Young, Willie Cauley-Stein, Andrew Harrison, Aaron Harrison, Kellan Grady, Nate Sestina, Brennan Canada, and Kerem Kanter (Enes Kanter/Freedom’s brother) make up the list. The team will be coached by former Wildcat great, Tyler Ulis.

It’s expected to be a hot-commodity event, so if you haven’t already purchased your tickets you can so here. If the La Familia team wins their first game on Friday evening, they’ll play again on Sunday at either 12:00 or 2:00 PM, still to be determined on which.

This basketball tournament will be spread across 8 different regions with only 1 team making it out as the ultimate winner, earning the $1 million dollar grand prize.
