It’s beginning to feel like that time of year again. It’s a feeling that I can’t entirely explain. But football fans — and those who just love the fall season — know exactly what I am talking about.

First off, there is only a little bit over two weeks until college football will be on our televisions.

Secondly, next week the temperatures are going to drop to the lows of around sixty degrees, thus, confirming that fall is upon us.

Kentucky Football Predictions

It’s also around this time every year when the excitement level grows tremendously for another season of Kentucky Football.

Going hand-in-hand with that, it’s also the time that the staff at Cats Coverage reviews the Wildcats’ upcoming schedule and make their predictions. Just for reference, I have attached below the 2024 schedule. It is in the form of the posters that you can find at your local Kroger.

Tim Smith:

Our photographer, Tim Smith, believes that Kentucky will improve on their record of last season by at least one game. Tim has Kentucky going 8-4 on the season with the four losses coming against Georgia, Ole Miss, Tennessee, and Texas. This would put the Wildcats 4-4 in the SEC.

Ethan Grantz:

One of the newest members of Cats Coverage is Ethan Grantz. Ethan handles a lot of the press conferences, practices, and attends games for us. Ethan is pretty optimistic in the Wildcats as he has Kentucky going 9-3 on the season. The losses Ethan has predicted for Kentucky are to Georgia, Tennessee, and Texas. This would mean Kentucky would win on the road at Ole Miss in week 5.

Jacob Childers:

Jacob is one of the more pessimistic members of the Cats Coverage staff. Jacob appears to believe that the Wildcats’ tough schedule this season will be an issue. Jacob said he feels like Kentucky will repeat their record from the 2023 season of 7-5. The losses he has on Kentucky’s schedule are Texas, Ole Miss, Georgia, Tennessee, and Florida. This would mean that the Gators break their losing streak to Kentucky this year in the swamp.

Jack Wagner:

This prediction comes from one of our writers, Jack Wagner. He agrees with Tim Smith who thinks that the Wildcats will have a good showing in 2024. Jack thinks Kentucky will finish the season with an impressive record of 8-4. Those losses will once again come at the hands of Georgia, Ole Miss, Tennessee, and Texas.

Matt Sak:

Matt Sak, one of the members of Rupp To No Good and former writer at Cats Coverage, is very optimistic in Kentucky. Along with Ethan Grantz, Matt Sak thinks Kentucky’s final record for 2024 will be 9-3. He was struggling though to come up with who the three losses would come to. He went on to say that those three would come from either Georgia, Tennessee, Texas, or Ole Miss.

Derek Presser:

Derek of Cats Coverage has Kentucky going with a respectable 8-4 on the season. Derek is also like Matt Sak, he is indifferent about where the four losses will come from. His three definite losses are to Georgia, Texas, and Tennessee. For the fourth loss, he said it’s a toss-up between Ole Miss and Florida. He predicts that Kentucky will go 1-1 in those games.

Tres Terrell:

Tres, the founder of Cats Coverage, is sticking with the norm that Kentucky will have a decent year overall. Tres has the Wildcats going 8-4 also. The four losses that he has for Kentucky are to Georgia, Texas, Tennessee, and Ole Miss.

Janson Hoskins:

I personally have Kentucky going 8-4 as well. While in many earlier seasons of my fandom, I would be celebrating an eight-win season for Kentucky Football. However, with this loaded roster, it leaves a feeling of wanting more in my opinion. I don’t want to blame the tough schedule for this. If you want to be amongst the best, you have to play the best.

A lot of highly-credible college football analysts say that Kentucky has one of the top-five hardest schedules this season. It just kind of stinks that it comes when Kentucky has arguably one of the best (projected) rosters in history. All this to say, if Kentucky manages to win eight games I would consider that a success. Anything less than that then I think you honestly need to take a look at what is not working.

As far as my four losses for Kentucky this season, I have Kentucky losing to both Georgia and Texas and I don’t think these will be close. The other two are also losses on the road. Those include Ole Miss and Florida. I am sticking my chin out on this one, but I honestly believe that this is a team capable of beating Tennessee in Neyland this season.
