Quite literally what we’ve all been waiting for has finally happened. I heard some talks about this towards the end of last season but I just assumed most of that came from people voicing their ‘wants’ and not actually what could come to reality someday. Thankfully, it was all true.
Kentucky and Kroger Field now get to participate with the rest of college football and have a “light show” during the night games, casting what will be one hell of an in-game experience I could imagine. I can remember having strong jealousy watching what felt like every other cool program have one of a kind atmospheres at home, and Kentucky blaring Grove Street Party a dozen times a game to try to compete for second place. I like the song, but we needed to catch up with what is cool in present day and not keep living off what popped off before covid was a thing.
During Media Day last week we got to see the lights getting installed, but it wasn’t until Tuesday night that the athletic department dropped the video that went absolutely crazy, as expected.
The audio incorporated in that video took it to another level. After watching the video on loop, over and over again, until you finally realize you’ve watched it too many times, then at that point close your eyes and take the sound in while pretending you’re already there witnessing it for the first time. What a moment. It has me absolutely jacked for the season to begin and it’s just right around the corner from happening.
Kentucky will kick-off the year with a night game and we won’t have to wait for weeks down the road to get to experience it. Southern Miss, it’s over before it even begins.
