The 2024 college football season is barely under way but as Kentucky is preparing South Carolina tomorrow to improve to 2-0. In the midst of all of this the University of Kentucky focused on keeping two key pieces to Kentucky’s coaching staff.
The University of Kentucky’s Office of Legal Counsel released that both running back/special teams coordinator Jay Boulware and assistant head coach/recruiting coordinator Vince Marrow both received contract extensions some time last month.
Jay Boulware agreed to a one-year contract extension that will pay the assistant $575,000 in 2025. The former Auburn, Oklahoma, and Texas assistant is now looking at two years left on his deal and will make $550,000 during 2024.
Vine Marrow, who is the school’s top recruiter possibly of all time, will make $1.3 million in 2025 and 2026. However, if Vince were to leave at any point during this contract, the university would be owed $200,000 per year of the remaining contract.
This is welcomed news as Vince Marrow has been exactly what Kentucky needs in terms of recruiting. Boulware has also done well in revitalizing the special teams unit so it will be good to have both pieces locked down for a couple more seasons.
