Cats Coverage Staff Predictions: Georgia

If you are a die hard Kentucky Football fan then more than likely you still have a bad taste in your mouth from the Wildcats’ lackluster performance against South Carolina.

If we’re being honest, the Gamecocks, led by Shane Beamer, dominated Kentucky in every facet of the game. Kentucky was still in the game at halftime as South Carolina led only 10-6, however, unforced errors/penalties and turnovers ultimately decided the fate of Kentucky in the final thirty minutes of the game.

Kentucky is now looking ahead to their week three match up against the number one ranked Georgia Bulldogs. The broadcast will start at 7:30 PM ET with kickoff coming at 7:45 PM ET on ABC.

Head Coach Kirby Smart has definitely had Stoops’ number (along with nearly everyone else in the Southeastern Conference) over the years. Mark has not won a game against Georgia in his 12-year tenure and the closest he has came was back in 2012 where the final score was 29-24.

Kentucky has their backs against the wall and are dealing with a lot of injuries so this is not the opportune time to face the best team in the nation. With that being said, I am going to try to remain somewhat optimistic that we will see more fight from the Wildcats this week. I am also going to try to remain sane though I know that Georgia is just outright better than Kentucky at almost every position, as well as a lot deeper in depth than Kentucky is.

The last time I checked DraftKings, Georgia was favored -24. I personally think Georgia covers, but not by much. My score prediction is Georgia winning 37-10.

The rest of the Cats Coverage staff predictions are as followed:

Jacob Childers: 34-3, Georgia

Braden Nevius: 38-3, Georgia

Matt Sak: 15-14, Kentucky

Tim Smith: 48-10, Georgia

Tres Terrell: 35-10, Georgia

Jordan Mathus: 34-17, Georgia

Ethan Grantz: 28-10, Georgia

Jack Wagner: 42-17, Georgia

The Wildcats look to get back on track before hosting Ohio University next week in their week four match up. In the mean time, feel free to check out our ‘Tailgate Diaries’ video which is on our YouTube channel and was filmed BEFORE the game last week. Some of the takes didn’t play out as we believed they would.

  1. I believe Georgia will be ‘resting’ a few of their players
