I think we’ve finally reached the breaking point of the season where fans are starting to find themselves checked out of hope for what’s left this year.
This Kentucky Football team wraps up their SEC home schedule at 0-4 overall against South Carolina, Georgia, Vanderbilt, and Auburn, owning two top-15 conference road trips left at Tennessee and at Texas left on the schedule.
Sitting at 3-5 overall and second-to-last amongst the SEC, it appears like this team won’t be making a bowl game for the first time since 2015. They would have to win the Murray State game and the Louisville game, plus take out one of Tennessee or Texas, which doesn’t feel like a chance of that happening is very realistic.
Here are the final stats from the 14-point home loss.

Kentucky would fall to the Tigers 24-10, getting out passed, out ranned, and out played for the third consecutive week. Kentucky totaled in just 154 passing yards and only 70 rushing yards in a group effort, resulting in 10 points on Saturday night.
Brock Vandagriff’s stat line would cease just shortly after halftime at 120 passing yards on 9/17 attempts and no touchdowns before the staff would bring in backup quarterback Gavin Wimsatt to finish out the game. It didn’t get much better as he would finish with 34 passing yards on 3/10 attempts and no touchdowns as well.
Another loss adding to the pile, it sure feels like the wheels have fallen off of this season. Up next, Kentucky will travel down to Knoxville next Saturday — a place they haven’t won at since 2020 — to take on the 7th ranked Tennessee Volunteers before returning home against Murray State the following weekend. I’m not expecting anything but a blowout (at Tennessee) if we’re being honest, but either way I will still be in attendance for it.
With that being said, this team has 4 more games left in the regular season. I’m going on record and saying it feels like Murray State is the only guaranteed win left on the schedule? Louisville is right there for the taking as normal, but we aren’t used to this bad of team under this coaching reign so anything is possible; it’s surely not a guarantee though.
