Tonight the Kentucky Wildcats kicked off the Kenny Brooks era with a decisive performance, winning 98-43.

The ‘Cats started off strong in the first half with Teonni Key, Clara Strack, and Clara Silva imposing their will in the paint. Point guard Georgia Amoore made her presence felt as well, hitting the first three-pointer of the season and initiating the offense at a high level, getting to the free throw line multiple times.

At halftime, Kentucky lead 47-18, with Amoore leading the charge.

Kentucky’s size proved to be too much for USC Upstate, with the 6’7 freshman Clara Silva recording 6 blocks. Clara Strack, Teonni Key, and Amelia Hassett imposed their will defensively in the paint.

The Wildcats continued their dominance in the second half, partially due to Amelia Hassett’s onslaught from three where she finished with 14 points on 4-7 from behind the arc.

Clara Strack played incredibly well, finishing with 22 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 blocks. Georgia Amoore added to that, recording a double-double, with 11 points and 10 assists.

Here are the final stats from the season opener.
