I would say that many Kentucky fans would be on the same page about the 2024 season being a disappointing one, however, Kentucky’s staff is working on trying to rebuild the roster for the upcoming 2025 season in urgent fashion.
This offseason Mark Stoops will have several top priorities that he must take care of to achieve that. Yes, there will be some of this current roster that leaves for the transfer portal, but if you’re Mark Stoops you have to limit that. Pay special attention to your younger core of talented freshmen and sophomores and try to keep them here. Stoops will also have to address some of the weaknesses from this season within the portal. The offensive line definitely stands out to me, and it’ll be especially true if Cutter Boley is going to be the guy moving forward.
Along with that, the Kentucky coaching staff has a good recruiting class coming in next year. As of right now, Kentucky’s recruiting class is hovering around a top-25 class. Stoops needs to make it a priority to lock these guys up during the signing period.
Today, Kentucky got another verbal commitment from another class of 2025 recruit, Dejerrian Miller.
Dejerrian “DJ” Miller is a 6’3″ wideout from Saint Louis, Missouri. He is in his senior season at Cardinal Ritter College Prep, working his way to Lexington soon after. The four-star prospect is a top-500 recruit nationally, and is also the 93rd-best wide receiver in the nation, according to 247Sports.
Two Kentucky assistants, Daikiel Shorts and Frank Buffano, focused on Miller throughout his recruitment. They ultimately convinced him to commit to the University of Kentucky over many of other great offers, some that included Ole Miss, Tennessee, Arkansas, Colorado, Indiana, Kansas State, Miami, Michigan, Missouri, Texas A&M, and USC.
He was first offered by Kentucky back in January of 2024, officially visiting the school in April. Once wasn’t enough because he visited again back in June, confirming what he liked in the school once more. Fast forward over five months later and he’s decided to commit to the program officially.
