Kentucky will be without one of its star players tonight against the #5 Tennessee Volunteers as they come into Lexington looking to get revenge on the Wildcats who stole one on their home floor just a few weeks ago.
BYU transfer and Kentucky starter, Jaxson Robinson, has been ruled out for Kentucky’s 24th game of the season. Averaging 13.3 points per game and 28.8. minutes of action, he’ll definitely create a loss for the Wildcats by not being out on the court. He totaled in 17 points and four three-pointers the last time they faced the Volunteers, so I’m sure the opposing fanbase is glad they don’t have to see that again. But not having Jaxson in the rotation will create a different look for Kentucky, one we haven’t seen the entire season.
Jaxson is dealing with a wrist injury that was suffered during practice on the Friday before the South Carolina game, one that we were told was an “on court collision” where he injured his wrist. It did not keep him out of the game against the Gamecocks, but they were definitely monitoring it through the day. It was obvious that it affected his playing ability as he missed 6 of his 8 shots and finished with just 6 points. He was also seen holding his wrist after another on court collision, this one coming in the actual game of course. He then was taken to the bench where they wrapped some type of cast/medical device around it to help treat it momentarily.

Fast forward to Mark Pope’s Monday night call-in radio show, he said Kentucky could likely be without Robinson against Tennessee, that they were monitoring it. Maybe an hour later the SEC put out their Initial Injury Report officially confirming that Jaxson would be ‘Out’ against South Carolina.
