After a frustrating loss to the nation’s number one team this weekend, Kentucky falls to 19-10 overall as they’re starting their track to the postseason. Up next they’ll host LSU on Tuesday night for their Senior Night festivities, then play their last game of the regular season on the road at #15 Missouri on Saturday.
With this week’s 83-82 win on the road at Oklahoma, and Saturday’s 94-78 loss to #1 Auburn, Kentucky falls to 19th in this week’s AP Poll, a two spot change from last week’s positioning. This ranking places them right behind Purdue (at 18th) and just ahead of Marquette (at 20th).

As of now, with the two regular season games remaining, Kentucky is targeted for a Thursday first game matchup of the SEC Tournament, taking place at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville. Unless Kentucky was to win both, or to lose both, I don’t see that seeding fluctuating too much. I believe the committee and most fans expect a 1-1 turnout, likely still keeping them on the second day with their first round bye.
As of Monday, March 3rd, this team owns a SEC record of 8-8, tied with Vanderbilt and Mississippi State.
