There you have it, the Kentucky men’s basketball team has just been informed of their destination for the 2025 NCAA Tournament.

After finishing the season at 21-10 (10-8 SEC) and going 1-1 in the SEC Tournament, they now have been chosen as the 11th overall seed for the big tournament.

They also have been tabbed as a 3-seed in the Midwest Region of the bracket. The location of their first round matchup with Troy will be in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. They’ll play on Friday at 7:10 PM ET. The game will be broadcasted on CBS.

We got to sit in with the team for their watch party today, which you can find exclusive content from that here. The team seemed excited about their placement, hoping to go on a deep run for the first Kentucky season with Mark Pope and also for 6 of these players’ last run in college basketball.

The team was also in better spirits today after gaining their point guard back for it all. It was made public early on Sunday morning by CBS Sports’ Jon Rothstein that Lamont Butler will be available for Kentucky’s first NCAA Tournament game after having to miss their last SEC Tournament matchup on Friday night.

Even with many expecting Kentucky to lose to Alabama on Friday night, the team still wasn’t happy about the result of it. The numbers told you that Kentucky would likely lose but I think what hurt the most for the program was how it happened. Alabama won by 29 points, the second worst postseason loss in UK program history.
