KHSAA Sweet Sixteen Bracket

After nearly 6 months of evidence to show for it, the state’s 16 best teams will throw down in Lexington for the title of it all. From March 26-29th, 15 games will take place with the losers being sent back home in disappointment and the winners fighting for an advancement closer to a championship for their school.

The first game will begin on March 26 (Wednesday), at 11:00 AM with three more games coming right after that. On March 27 (Thursday) there will be another four games that take place to round out the First Round. The Quarterfinals (four games) will take place on March 28 (Friday), the Semifinals and Championship game on March 29 (Saturday).

Here is the full bracket.

The third game on Thursday’s schedule is Great Crossing versus Daviess County, with the GC Warhawks being led by Kentucky signee, Malachi Moreno. Just days before he approaches his last run at a state title, he was named the 2025 KY Mr. Basketball winner for the state, and he spoke to Cats Coverage on what it was like earning that award.

You might remember from last season that the 2024 KY Mr. Basketball award winner, Travis Perry, led Lyon County to the win in the championship game over Harlan County and Trent Noah, both of which are on the team this season and will be joined by Malachi next season.
