Open Practice For UK Fans In Milwaukee

If you are making the trip to Milwaukee to watch the ‘Cats play in the NCAA Tournament, you’ll get more than just the game and city lights to experience as the team’s practice has been opened up for the public’s viewing! During NCAA play, fans are allowed to sit in and watch their team as they prepare for their March Madness opponent.

Kentucky’s open practice will be on Thursday, March 20, at 2:45 PM CT inside the Fiserv Forum (where the Milwaukee Bucks play). It’s free to attend, just show your ticket when entering the doors!

I think it’s super cool that fans get the opportunity to do this as it helps incentivize fans to make the trip, giving them super close access to their team and to heighten the hype for the NCAA Tournament matchup. For local coverage in Lexington, practice is off limits for fans and media, so to get to do this as the team embarks their last stretch of the season is really special. It wouldn’t shock me if Mark Pope and his staff has something worked up for the ones who do show up, rewarding them for doing so, I bet with allowing the players to come over and take pictures/sign autographs or something of that sort. That’s not been made official just yet, but I could very much see that happening.

Kentucky (4-seed) will face Troy (13-seed) on Friday night at 7:10 PM ET for their first round matchup. Kentucky’s not had a lot of success in the NCAA Tournament over the last half decade, but now we’re in a new era and are chasing back towards our original standards of being there to win the whole thing, so I’ve got a lot of optimism with the group if they can keep Lamont Butler healthy.

Let’s see how they do on this run.
