The TBT Final Four has arrived! La Familia takes on JHX Hoops (Kansas alumni) for a spot in the TBT Championship. The two winningest programs in the history of college basketball are meeting on the big stage once again.
A rematch of the 2012 National Championship, both teams will feature some players from that game tonight. For JHX Hoops, they will have Kevin Young and Tyshawn Taylor from that game, as well as Jamari Traylor, although he was redshirted that season.
La Familia won’t have anyone on the court from the 2012 title game, but they will have Jon Hood (La Familia’s head coach) and Twany Beckham (La Familia’s general manager) on the sideline in support.
Will La Familia come out on top or will JHX Hoops get their revenge from all those years ago?
Starting Lineups:
La Familia: Andrew Harrison, Darryl Morsell, Archie Goodwin, James Mainor Bell, & Willie Cauley-Stein.
JHX Hoops: Jacob Hanna, Frank Mason III, Zeke Mayo, Billy Preston, Jamari Traylor.
JHX Hoops had the advantage early with Jacob Hanna scoring five of their first seven points. Willie Cauley-Stein did his best to keep La Familia in it as he started with La Familia’s first four points. Despite the early success from those two, both teams struggled to make shots, La Familia started 3/11 and JHX Hoops started 3/10.
La Familia finally saw some shots fall and was able to capitalize on JHX Hoop’s poor shooting (4/17) as they put together an 8-2 run to end the first quarter.
Andrew Harrison got things started in the second quarter, as he got his first shot to fall of the night. Following that shot, La Familia was shooting 4/8 from the 3-point range, which seemed to be the difference maker in the game to that point.
La Familia continued to roll in the second quarter and their physicality was just too much for JHX Hoops to handle. JHX tried to answer the early 7-2 run after seeing some shots fall, but La Familia’s offense was too much to handle as they answered every make by the Kansas alumni.
JHX Hoops wasn’t going down without a fight… They finally put together their own 5-0 run to make things interesting to close out the first half.
La Familia got a little something from everyone in the first half, with seven of their nine players scoring. Archie Goodwin led the way with 10 points as La Familia takes a 37-30 lead into the half.

Archie Goodwin started the second half where he left off in the first, earning a steal and a fastbreak slam to get things going in the second.
Both teams struggled to score at the halfway point of the 3rd quarter, but La Familia was able to rally behind Big Blue Nation and HMC to put together a 7-1 start as they continued to extend their lead.
Things were starting to get bland at this point. That was until Khalil Whitney got a MONSTER block, and Sean McNeil got a crafty fast break layup in back-to-back possessions.
Big Blue Nation was ready to blow the roof off the arena.
If you are a Kansas fan you might want to forget the third quarter ever happened. It was complete dominance the entire time. La Familia outscored JHX 21-7 on the back of Chris Coffey who scored all eight of his points in the quarter.

JHX Hoops still had some fight left in them as they got off to a quick 9-4 start in the fourth quarter. That run didn’t last long. Archie Goodwin and Darryl Morsell answered their run with back-to-back buckets.
That might have been all the fun Kansas would have tonight.
Elam Ending time! La Familia is up 69-53 heading into it. The Target Score is 77.
The finale of the game lasted a little bit longer than expected, with La Familia missing multiple opportunities to close out the game, allowing JHX to go on a late run. The home team missed countless game-winning shots as well as two free-throws by Archie Goodwin in which just one make would’ve sealed it.
JHX was able to get it all the way down to an 11-point deficit.
Many moments later, Archie Goodwin pulls through with another TBT game-winner!
He finished with 28 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 steals.
Archie Goodwin is making a strong case for being named the 2026 TBT MVP, while averaging 26.7 PPG, 5.7 RPG, 3.3 APG & 2.3 SPG over 3 games played.
La Familia now advances to the TBT championship game for a shot at $2 million. They will face the winner of The Mecca vs. Davis Steel on Sunday at 1:00 PM EST inside Historical Memorial Coliseum.
