Big Blue Nation can get an up-close and personal look at their Wildcats under first-year head coach Will Stein.

This evening, on Saturday, Aug. 15, Kroger Field will open its doors for an hour, from 5-6 p.m ET, where fans will be able to meet their team, not just watch them.

Fans were able to catch the team in action back in April for the Spring Game, but this event will be much different. There may be no on-field action, but fans are getting the opportunity to meet and talk with the entire team before they take the field for the first game on Sept. 5. The best part? It’s totally free.

Here are the details released by UK earlier this week: Players and coaches will be positioned in groups throughout the stadium, where they are waiting for fans to greet them. Autographs are limited to one item per person. Photos with the coaches and players are not allowed. Conversations are also needed to be kept brief, so that the lines move smoothly.

UK has also given the layout of the free event where fans are able to meet the team. Fans can enter through Gate 1, with BBN United members able to enter through Gate 16. From there, players will be laid out by position throughout that top end of the stadium.

Here is where each position will be set up at in Kroger Field from 5-6 p.m. ET:

Specialists: Inside Gate 1

Safeties: Outside sections 1 and 2

Outside Linebackers: Outside sections 3 and 4

Cornerbacks: Outside section 39

Inside Linebackers: Inside Gate 15

Defensive Line: Inside Gate 14, outside section 33

Tight Ends: Inside Gate 13

Wide Receivers: Inside section 12

Running Backs: Between sections 31 and 30

Quarterbacks: Between sections 29 and 28

Fans were treated to a Spring Game this spring and also a summer full of content from the football team’s social media account. Now, they’ll get to meet the team and coaches as a new era is upon us with Will Stein at the helm, bringing a new and exciting energy to the program.

The UK Team Shop will also be open at Kroger Field for fans to be able to grab some swag before the season begins in addition to meeting the team.

It’s going to be a fun evening in Lexington as we get closer and closer to that first kickoff.
