Big Blue Nation has a big weekend coming up, one that every season helps to prepare one of college basketball’s most loyal fan bases ready for the 2026-27 season.

The highly anticipated annual Big Blue Madness exhibition event returns Friday, October 2nd, at 7 p.m. ET in Rupp Arena. Both the men’s and women’s basketball programs will be introduced to fans while drills, scrimmaging, a dunk contest, and much more will take place as thousands pack the mecca to the brim. Big Blue Madness tickets went fast this year as they sold out in just 22 minutes.

Following that, the very next morning, the second-annual BBN United Fan Fest will be coming back to the Central Bank Center Exhibition Halls. This event will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. ET, giving fans just enough time to make it back home or to a local bar to make sure they’re in front of a TV for Kentucky football’s road clash with the South Carolina Gamecocks at 4:15 p.m. ET.

The BBN United Fan Fest features appearances from Kentucky’s men’s and women’s basketball teams, coaches, former players and other members of the program. It allows fans to interact with both teams in a personal setting before the new season tips off. The event will also feature several attractions away from the main stage; fans can take pictures with Kentucky’s championship trophies and view memorabilia from the program’s storied history. Interactive activities, inflatables, face painting, balloon artists, a live DJ, and more will also be there throughout the afternoon.

Food vendors, Kentucky-branded retailers, and State Line Co. will also be on hand, while several sponsors host their own activities for fans. Last year, the event also included live podcast recordings and other main-stage programming, giving fans another way to engage with Kentucky basketball beyond the court.

While Big Blue Madness has long served as Kentucky basketball’s official tipoff celebration, the BBN United Fan Fest adds hours of fan interaction to the weekend, creating a fun event surrounding one of the program’s most anticipated traditions. There’s a lot to be excited about regarding Kentucky Athletics so make sure you get out to some of these great festivities.
