Earlier today the Kentucky women’s basketball program found out the news of their first player to enter the transfer portal this offseason in Clara Silva. With over 700 players entering the portal today alone (according to On3’s Talia Goodman), Kentucky was bound to have another one enter the portal.

Just minutes ago, it was announced that Kentucky junior, Saniah Tyler, will enter her name into the transfer portal.

The 5’6″ guard from Missouri played in 26 of the 31 games the Wildcats played in this season. In those games she averaged twelve minutes of clock, totaling in just 2.3 points, 1.2 rebounds, and 0.4 assists per game.

Talia was first to report the news.

Saniah Tyler and Cassidy Rowe were the two players that returned this past season after the firing of former UK head coach, Kyra Elzy, following the 2023-24 season. They stayed through the coaching change as anchors for the new era of Kentucky’s women’s basketball program, but after one season, Tyler looks to be looking for a different home.

She will have one more year of eligibility left at whatever school she decides to attend for her senior season of collegiate basketball.

With the loss of Dazia Lawrence and Georgia Amoore (out of eligibility), and these two portal decisions, that frees up four spots for Kenny Brooks and the coaching staff to go after some talented transfers in the offseason.
