Head coach Mark Pope and the Kentucky men’s basketball program will host a five-star, top-10 recruit in the class of 2027 for an official visit in late October.

On3’s Joe Tipton reported that Adan Diggs, the No. 6 overall recruit in the class of 2027, will be heading to Lexington for a two-day visit from October 22-23. Kentucky recently cracked Diggs’ top-7 school list back on September 10th.

The other programs on Diggs’ list include North Carolina, Duke, Arkansas, Arizona, Kansas, and USC, all pretty notable programs when it comes to NIL budgets. The Wildcats are slated to host Texas Tech for their second exhibition game on Oct. 23, so Diggs will get to see the way Big Blue Nation operates inside the mecca. Even if it’s not a regular season matchup, seeing how Big Blue Nation shows out for a preseason contest may help in the recruiting battle. It won’t seal the deal, but who knows, it may give the Cats a slight advantage in their push for Diggs.

While ranked No. 6 in the country, Diggs is also tabbed as the No. 1 ranked combo guard in the nation and No. 2 ranked player in the state of Arizona. Standing at 6-foot-4, Diggs sits just behind small forward Demarcus Henry as the top recruit in Arizona; however, he was ranked as the No. 1 overall player in the class of 2028 before he reclassified to the class of 2027. This summer on the Nike EYBL Circuit, Diggs averaged 18.3 points, 6.1 rebounds, 3.2 assists, and 1.8 steals per game for Vegas Elite.

He continued his strong play with the USA Basketball U18 Team, helping the squad earn a silver medal at the FIBA AmeriCup while averaging 10.4 points and 6.6 rebounds per game. Ultimately, Kentucky’s upcoming visit with Diggs will be an important opportunity for Pope and his staff to make an impression on one of the nation’s top recruits. With the Wildcats already making his top seven, a strong showing from Big Blue Nation could only help Kentucky’s case.

There’s still a long way to go in the recruitment, but the Cats have put themselves in the mix for one of the biggest names in the 2027 class.
