Milan Momcilovic was named to the Preseason All-SEC Second Team on Monday, and on Thursday, the first-year Wildcat received an even bigger accolade courtesy of CBS.
Momcilovic was named to CBS Sports’ Preseason All-America Third Team, sharing the honor with some big names including Virginia’s Thijs De Ridder, Michigan’s Elliot Cadeau, who’s coming off a national title run with the Wolverines, BYU’s Robert Wright III, and Florida’s Rueben Chinyelu, who won a national title in 2025.
The Wisconsin native makes the move over from Iowa State, where he played three seasons under head coach T.J. Otzelberger. Momcilovic had a breakout junior campaign, leading the nation in 3-point shooting percentage (48.7%), while averaging a team-high 16.9 points, 3.1 rebounds, and one assist.
Momcilovic faced an early test with the Wildcats, jamming his index finger on his shooting hand during the summer, which sidelined him for a bit. He wore a splint due to the injury; however, he was back shooting in practice on Sept. 22. On Sept. 28, at Kentucky’s media day, head coach Mark Pope said Momcilovic was expected to be cleared to practice without the splint the following week, though no reports have confirmed this yet.
Big Blue Nation can watch Momcilovic’s first game in Kentucky threads on Friday, Oct. 16 when UK hosts Arkansas Little Rock for an exhibition game in Rupp Arena. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. ET, and the game can be viewed on SEC Network +.
