Kentucky now has its second addition to the 2025-26 roster. Pittsburgh guard, Jaland Lowe, has reportedly announced that he will be transferring to the University of Kentucky and playing for Mark Pope.
After spending two seasons playing for the Panthers, he’s increased his production by having more minutes on the floor, averaging career-highs in essentially every category. In 2024-25, he would put up 16.8 points, 4.2 rebounds, 5.5 assists, and 1.8 steals a contest, shooting 37.6% from the field.
He also can score the ball at a high level, scoring 15 or more points in over 23 games this past year.
I can only imagine how greatly that type of scoring production will pair up with Otega Oweh’s, assuming he returns for his senior year.
He also picked up a Third Team All-ACC honor for his efforts this past season, confirming his worth throughout the Atlantic Coast Conference. He provided the Panthers over 35 minutes of production on a game-by-game basis, quickly building a well-known reputation within the program.
The 6-foot-3 guard entering his junior season will join Tulane star Kam Williams as the first two new faces to the program as Kentucky enters its second season under Mark Pope. As of the current day, the only confirmed returner for Kentucky is Travis Perry. Lamont Butler, Koby Brea, Andrew Carr, Amari Williams, Ansley Almonor, and Jaxson Robinson all are out of eligibility, and the program is still waiting for official confirmation from Brandon Garrison, Collins Chandler, Trent Noah, and Otega Oweh. Kerr Kriisa has officially entered the transfer portal, so he will not be returning.
