Things seem to be really great in the Kentucky basketball world at the moment — for both men’s and women’s — as both programs start the regular season off 2-0 and also both find themselves ranked in the top-twenty by the Associated Press.
The men’s basketball program is coming off their second win of the regular season, defeating Bucknell 100-72 on Saturday afternoon in Rupp Arena. The women’s team is fresh off a 70-41 win over NKU on Thursday, both winning in dominant fashion.
Mark Pope’s roster was ranked 23rd overall in week one, now having earned the climb up four spots higher to 19th overall. They are also sitting at 18th in the Coaches Poll.

Looks like they’ve still got the Wildcats ranked a spot behind the 1-loss Arkansas Razorbacks for once more, but I think next week it’ll be a little bit different in the new poll.
Kenny Brooks’ roster is tabbed at 20th overall in the AP Poll, moving up from 22nd in week one.

Both teams are scheduled to play this week with the men’s team traveling down to Atlanta for the Champions Classic showdown against No. 6 Duke on Tuesday night. The women’s team hosts Wofford up next on Tuesday night as well, both looking for their third win of the season.
Even with both teams playing on the same night you can still manage to support both as the women’s starts at 6:00 pm with the men’s slated for a 9:00 pm tip.
