Ranked Saturday matchups inside Rupp Arena have become the norm this season, this one becoming Kentucky’s third ranked opponent hosted at home this year. In the first two, Kentucky would go 2-0 taking down #6 Florida and #11 Texas A&M. Today, they faced their highest ranked opponent of the entire season in #4 Alabama, in which they would end up losing by five, 102-97.
In what felt like a no-seat-left-behind type of environment, blue packed-in as they have all season. The excitement behind this team is extremely high, and it doesn’t hurt that you have been sitting as one of the best teams in the country since the first week and that you average nearly 90 points of offense a game. That’s what fans want to see and what fans want to watch.
Kentucky would take home the loss today, finally losing their first top-15 matchup of the year and falling to 14-4 overall and 3-2 in the SEC.
Kentucky would be led by Otega Oweh with 21 points, shortly followed behind by Lamont Butler’s 17. As a team, they’d shoot 47.9% from the field and 40.7% from the three-point line.
Here are the final stats from the top-ten throw down.

Next Saturday the Wildcats will travel down to Nashville to take on SEC opponent Vanderbilt, at 2:30 PM, expecting to get back into the win column.
