Kenny Brooks wasted no time putting together a roster for the 2024 season. Even though he was in a very similar situation that Mark Pope was in for the men’s team upon arrival, Brooks got a team together super quick for the 2024-25 season.
Now that the 2024 season is underway, the women’s basketball head coach has shifted his recruiting focus onto the 2025 class, building out next year’s team. There was no doubt that Kenny Brooks could recruit at a high level at Virginia Tech, but now it’s good to see that it is transitioning into his new role at Kentucky.
Class of 2025 recruit, Kaelyn Carroll, announced just moments ago that she will be committing to the University of Kentucky and Kenny Brooks’ staff.

“Let’s go Big Blue Nation! I can’t wait,” she said in an interview with 247Sports.
This will be Brooks’ first commitment in the 2025 class. The newest Wildcat is a five-star prospect out of Marion, Massachusetts. Carroll is currently in her senior season at Tabor Academy, and is listed as the 15th rated recruit in the (2025) ESPNW Top-100.
Kaelyn is listed at 6’2” and thrives as a wing player. There could potentially be a case that she could play at the four spot as well if need be.
She picked Kentucky over schools such as NC State, UNC, Ohio State, Tennessee, South Carolina, Villanova, and Virginia Tech.
