After an impressive victory last Saturday night, Kentucky hosted the Colgate Raiders tonight in Rupp Arena.

The home team started the game off well shooting wise as they moved out in front early and developed a 17-0 lead over the Raiders. Things were great and very comfortable in Lexington before out of nowhere Colgate decided to go on a run themselves getting the score as close as 18-13. This was mostly due to Kentucky going cold from beyond the three-point line and the Raider getting hot from the field.

Kentucky as a team shot 26.7% from beyond the three-point line in the first half. This stat was all thanks to sharpshooter Koby Brea as he was the only Wildcat who was able to see one go down from deep that half, managing to go four-for-four from behind the arc.

Kentucky’s poor shooting performance continued for the remainder of the first half as Colgate was able to make this a close one at half time, including hitting a buzzer-beater three to end (the first half) regulation.

Early on in the second half Colgate managed to get their first lead of the game after cutting it down to two at halftime.

Kentucky and Colgate then went on to trade the lead back-and-forth up until the fifteen minute mark in the second half. Following that, the Wildcats then went on a 23-4 run in about a ten-minute span that put this game out of reach for the opposing Colgate Raiders.

The biggest contributors tonight overall were Koby Brea with 17 points, Amari Williams with 15, Otega Oweh with 15, Andrew Carr with 11, and Jaxson Robinson with 11. These five Wildcats combined for 69 of Kentucky’s 78 points.

Overall, there was some good things that stood out tonight believe it or not. Kentucky limited their turnovers to only six which has been an issue in a couple of games this season. They also managed to win the rebounding battle by grabbing 46, compared to the 35 boards of Colgate.

Here are the final stats from tonight’s win against Colgate.

Kentucky’s next game will be this coming Saturday, December 14th, where they will once again be hosting inside Rupp Arena. They’ll face their in-state rival, the Louisville Cardinals. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:15 PM with the broadcast to be on ESPN.
